ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (2-4 years experience)

Profiles is currently seeking candidates with 2-4 years of public relations experience for an Account Executive position. We are a tight-knit group who work hard and play hard, and seek someone with strong organizational, time-management and interpersonal skills to bring onto our team. Additionally, candidates should have basic knowledge of social media platforms (yes, we want you to be on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at work), and have the ability to think creatively and work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Our ideal candidate comes to work with a smile and has a very strong work ethic.

internship opportunities

Throughout the year, we welcome several collegiate students to our internship program and provide them with meaningful opportunities gaining valuable experience in the public relations, marketing and events industries. At Profiles, our interns don’t run coffee. They’re part of our team. Our interns have gone on to work with such organizations as Baltimore magazine, Habitat for Humanity, University of Maryland College Park’s Athletics Department, Under Armour, Visit Baltimore and countless other prestigious companies. Others have used their experience at Profiles to pursue graduate degrees, become entrepreneurs in the PR industry and find opportunities abroad.

Interns at Profiles are responsible for an assortment of professional duties including, but not limited to: drafting media materials, media database management (including training of Vocus), disseminating materials to media, working directly with media to coordinate interviews and story opportunities, media tracking, planning special events, coordinating promotions and learning the day-to-day workings of a PR firm.

Additionally, each semester we welcome one student to be our Social Media Intern. Throughout the semester, the Social Media Intern works with the firm’s Social Media Strategist to maintain an online presence for Profiles as well as support the ongoing new media initiatives of the firm’s client base. The Social Media Intern can expect to work on several projects ranging from conceptualizing and drafting social media calendars; the maintenance of the Profiles’ social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; attending webinars on social media; and conceptualizing promotions and social media opportunities for clients and the firm. This position requires that the intern stay extremely up-to-date on local and national social media news, have excellent research and writing skills, and be creative.
