The Jim Palmer Advantage

In June of 2003, Hall of Fame pitcher and Baltimore Orioles legend Jim Palmer revolutionized the mortgage industry by introducing The Jim Palmer ADvantage at the annual convention of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers. A customized turnkey advertising and marketing execution, The Jim Palmer ADvantage targets independent firms in the mortgage industry seeking to support their sales with a creative, cohesive and compelling message. Utilizing television and radio commercials, yellow page ads and direct mails, and even on-hold messages, Orioles great Jim Palmer's endorsement catapults firms into the upper echelon of the industry. Well known throughout the industry for his almost twenty year stint as spokesman for The Money Store, Palmer has become the industry's best-known lead generator. The Jim Palmer ADvantage is offered on a first-come, first-served basis to one firm in each market.

Profiles was selected to create and implement a media relations plan to launch the Jim Palmer ADvantage, and to communicate information and new developments on behalf of the program. An initiative was established to place stories in trade publications as well as established dailies and weeklies, on the local and national level. Profiles set up and coordinated the launch event, a breakfast in the historic warehouse at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, which was held in conjunction with the National Association of Mortgage Bankers convention.

Results: On behalf of The Jim Palmer ADvantage, Profiles successfully placed stories in the industries leading publications such as Inside Mortgage Finance, Origination News, and The Mortgage Press. Feature stories were published by The Baltimore Sun, the Baltimore Business Journal and the Associated Press.
