to Enhance Patient Experience
(Baltimore, MD) - St. Agnes Hospital and Mayor Martin O'Malley will unveil plans for a multi-phased, $160 million revitalization project that will provide necessary enhancements and additional features for patients and their families on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 10:00 AM. Renovations will help increase efficiency, improve patient flow, reduce patients' wait times, and enhance comfort.
The first phase of the project is $14 million and allows for the renovation and expansion of the hospital's emergency department and ambulatory surgery waiting area as well as the Women's Center and Cancer Center. The new emergency department will provide additional treatment rooms, including two new state-of-the-art operating rooms and interventional cardiology suites, as well as a number of amenities, including Internet access, a café and clustered seating, all in a more calming environment. The renovations to the Cancer Center and Women's Center will include more waiting areas and additional treatment rooms to assist with patient flow as well as improved aesthetics.
The second phase of the project will be the construction of a new $7.2 million garage that will have the capacity for 500 vehicles.
St. Agnes Hospital is in the planning stage for a third phase which will allow for the construction of a patient tower and second parking garage, as well as assist with additional needs for operating rooms, the Cancer Center and bedded care.
"This exciting and aggressive revitalization project will allow St. Agnes and our 3,000 employees to continue to strengthen our service to the community," said Kenneth Bancroft, President and CEO.
