"A DAY IN THE LIFE" AD CAMPAIGN
SEARCHES
FOR HOMEGROWN STAR
WHAT: Reality television comes to Baltimore as the University of Baltimore searches for the
student who will be the focus of its new "A Day in the Life" advertising campaign. The campaign,
to be unveiled this spring, represents a new direction for the University in both the form and message
of its advertising. UB will conduct audition-interviews on Thursday, Feb. 9 and will select the student
who will play the lead role in the story of his or her own life. Episodes of that story will appear on television
and in Web videos. The campaign will also include radio and outdoor advertising.
The campaign will be a fully integrated advertising effort, utilizing a variety of media (traditional and
online) to convey the educational opportunities UB offers to potential students in this time of increasing
state need. UB students who have submitted an application and are selected will participate in a
live audition, sharing the ups and downs of their school experiences as well as their hopes, dreams,
accomplishments and interests. The star of the new advertising campaign will be selected from
these auditions and will be announced on Friday, Feb. 10.
